Project Overview
eCornell seeks to contract with a website developer to build a new website. The new site will provide multiple target audiences with an engaging, interactive, informative and immersive online experience with the eCornell brand, customized to each audience\'s unique needs. We seek to create a distinctive Ivy League-quality experience that potential and existing students and partners expect when they approach eCornell incorporating database integration and ecommerce. Our current site is a series of HTML/Javascript-based pages, mostly static, but trending toward being created dynamically from content stored in an Oracle database. The site runs on Caucho\'s Resin app server. Our requirements for the new site are:
- meets W3C web development standards and best practices
- utilizes CSS
- be clearly documented for easy hand-off to eCornell developers
- be section 508 compliant
- accessible on mobile devices
- industry standard search engine optimization
- utilizes RSS feeds
- integrates existing ecommerce system
Timeline
Internal planning for the new site is underway and an interdisciplinary team is in place developing the functional and technical specifications . Target launch date is January 2009.

You will have an opportunity to respond in full with your qualifications to the Request for Proposal (RFP) which will be distributed shortly afterwards. Preference will be given to firms with experience working with companies similar to eCornell and located within a moderate distance of Ithaca, New York.
